The Latest Golf Technology

In today's world, there have been tremendous improvements in the field of science and technology. However, very few think of the role of technology in sports, especially in golf. The technology has however helped out heroes such as Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus to stay longer in the game than they would have normally done. The technology has not only helped the professionals, but it has also helped amateurs benefit in their games as well. Visit link for more info.

Many golf clubs have employed the technology of tracking a golf ball using a launch monitor. This has been made more available to most PGA professionals. The technology allows one to follow a golf ball from impact, its launch angle, flight apex up to the time it hits the ground including the rollout. The use of Doppler radar is now being used to track the characteristics the flight taken by a ball. This has enabled players to receive a club fitting to make multiple swing drivers and get the correct combination of length and loft. Studies have shown that the technology has enabled most players to make longer shots with their drivers having more lofts. Currently, some golf tour professionals are using drivers that have 10.5 degrees of loft. Previously, it was not possible to have so much on the driver. There was a perception that, if you had fewer lofts on your driver, the more a better player you had.

One of the other popular technologies in golf today is the rangefinder. This is a technology that allows the golf player to get the precise range required to hit the ball and accurately land it closer to the target hole. Using the technology, the golfer can measure the range required from the tee to where the fairway is located and again from the fairway to the putting green. The digital rangefinder is a small device that is handheld and has the shape of a miniature telescope. To operate it, the player looks through the lens and points to the green or whatever target, pushes the button and then can measure precisely the distance that needs to be covered so that the ball gets to the target. The technology does not allow players to apply the right force required to hit the ball; it also enables the golfer to make vital decisions on the type of wood or iron that is needed to cover the distance precisely. This has led to fewer mistakes in a game that requires precision and accuracy. Read more at this website.
